Palakiya Foundation

It is a well-established fact that climate change affects individuals and communities differently based on intersecting factors such as race, gender, socioeconomic positioning, geography, and more and the urgency of climate justice calls for bold and inclusive action. Palakiya Foundation is committed to advancing intersectional climate justice by working towards addressing inequities, challenging systems of oppression, and prioritizing the well-being of people and the planet. Together we can create a future where environmental sustainability, social justice, and human dignity are intertwined.

Climate Justice

Our climate is sick but we have the power to heal it and create a greener and more equal world. Extreme weather events, sea level rise, and droughts are all symptoms of a global climate on the brink of breakdown.

We are at a Crossroads

If we act now, as a global community, to keep temperature rise below catastrophic levels, we have a chance to re-stabilise our delicate climate. We can, as citizens, consumers, and countries, choose clean energy, forest protection, and ecological farming to cut climate pollution. Together we can heal the climate and in the process of working together build a safer, greener, and fairer world.

Food Justice

Our future is threatened by a runaway broken food system.
We all have to eat, of course, and the way we produce and consume our food has an enormous impact on the world around us. Changing the way we EAT, LEARNING about sustainable food, and TAKING ACTION for better food systems are the most effective ways to create positive change: Regeneration.
Palakiya Foundation demands a healthy future that ensures our children live in a world with fresh air, abundant forests, and a stable climate. Globally the communities are realising that the ways of eating and producing food need change and such a system needs to be in place that is fair and sustainable for farmers and food workers. Together, we’re determined to change the future of food.

Climate Literacy

Palakiya Foundation works in the field of experimental pedagogy, with children, youngsters, and communities in marginalized pockets of India. We seek to co-empower the marginalized, through education, to reflect on their life experiences and contexts, and strive for a life of dignity. We strive to co-educate the communities about their experiences of climate, food, and gender. It is a movement with intends to provide mic to the otherwise considered voiceless and unheard.

About Us

Palakiya Foundation through its research, campaign, advocacy and action focuses its work on climate and its intersections. It aims at co-empowering those pushed at the margins and whose voices and experiences have been unheard. The Foundation’s research and experimental development services ensure policy-level interventions in various demographies and geographies.
